Depending on the specific thermal conductivity ceramics can be used for a wide area of applications in the coffee industry. Most common application are the coffee cups and mugs, and kettles. The coffee dripper is another application. Ceramic coffee grinders are relatively new on the market, and they are greatly appreciated because they don’t heat the beans while grinding. Ceramics kettles and pots are also great because they are aesthetically appealing, while maintaining the liquid hot.
A ceramic is an inorganic, nonmetallic solid prepared by the action of heat and subsequent cooling. Ceramic materials may have a crystalline or partly crystalline structure, or may be amorphous. Because most common ceramics are crystalline, the definition of ceramic is often restricted to inorganic crystalline materials, as opposed to the noncrystalline glasses.
