Home appliance

Home appliances are electrical/mechanical machines which accomplish some household functions, such as cooking or cleaning. Home appliances can be classified into: Major appliances, or White goods, Small appliances, or Brown goods Consumer electronics, or Shiny goods. The consumer electronics division is also notable for the maintenance and repair of these kinds of products.

Major appliances are known as White goods due to the white enamel coatings that large appliances typically have. Major appliances are generally not portable and are often a permanent part of a property that is rented or sold. Examples of which would be a washing machine or a dishwasher.

Small appliances on the other hand are known as Brown goods because of the wooden brown boxes that were once used to pack them. Small appliances are generally home appliances that are non-essential items which improve quality of life.

Coffee appliances would generally fall into the bracket of small appliances. Examples of coffee home appliances would be domestic espresso machines, filter coffee machines, coffee grinders and other forms of coffee brewers such as pour over coffee makers, moka pots and French press coffee makers.

Coffee home appliances are becoming more and more popular in the current market. Coffee consumption is increasing all the time and so coffee drinkers are opting to brew their coffee at home as opposed to buying it at a coffee shop in order to economize. Coffee brewing is now also a hobbie and coffee drinkers want to brew their own coffee and improve their barista technique. This has therefore increased demand for coffee home appliances.
